JORDAN, Minn. – The rain is subsiding, but the rivers are still rising. Just south of Carver, Jordan, the Minnesota River takes over the road.

It also takes over valuable land from the River Valley Horse Ranch.

“Most of our trails are closed. The two hours are flooded and much of the hour is flooded. It looks like the road will be closed later today,” said Darolyn Barnett, who works at the ranch.

According to National Weather Service experts, the threat still remains.

“Over the next three or four days we will see levels rise, especially in the Mississippi, with the Minnesota and smaller rivers eventually flowing into it. There is a bit of a delayed response, so even though we will remain dry for the next seven to 10 days we will continue to see the river rise,” said Tyler Hasenstein, a meteorologist who analyzes water levels.

“For the rest of the week, it would be a good idea to look at local weather conditions and see where they are. After that, they should be stable or decline after that,” Hasenstein said.

It’s good news for the trail at River Valley Horse Ranch, which is still open.
