Weather authority warning for high winds and dust Monday

El Paso, Texas (KTSM) — Good evening, El Paso.

We are indeed on a Weather Authority Alert as we predict winds will move into the city on Monday. We can expect westerly winds of 15 to 20 km/h.

However, wind gusts of up to 26 km/h are forecast. Not that bad, but the wind has the potential to create a dusty haze for the Borderland. Make sure you take precautions, especially as our pollen count reaches 6.5.

Wind can irritate your allergies, so wear a mask and keep your medications handy. Monday is also forecast to reach a high of 100 degrees, our first triple digits of the year.

The wind will continue to blow on Tuesday. The good news is of no substance to us today. We can expect our highs to reach 94 degrees with an overnight low of 65 degrees.

On Wednesday the day is quieter compared to the other days. Windy conditions will develop during the course of the day with occasional gusts. Our high is quite warm at 93 degrees.

Back to that wind for Thursday. Yes! For today we can expect wind without dust. Our high warms up to 94 degrees; In the evening, our overnight low is forecast at 66 degrees.

Friday will be a beautiful day, just a light breeze to complement sunny skies with a high of 93 degrees.

Saturday is National Wine Day and I can definitely say that clear skies are on our radar with minimal cloud cover. Our high temperature is expected to reach 92 degrees, while overnight low temperatures will cool to 65 degrees.

The rest of the week’s highs will be in the lower and mid 90s, combined with some very nice sunny skies.

Have a great week ahead El Paso, I’m so excited that the splash parks in El Paso are finally opening and it seems like Mother Nature is cooperating too. Thank you for reading!
