Wes Welker is glad he didn’t go to the Tom Brady Roast

Tom Brady regrets being roasted. Wes Welker has no regrets about not attending Brady’s Roast.

Welker, Miami’s receivers coach, was asked about the event this week.

I was a little disappointed in the Brady roastWelker said, via Adam H. Beasley of ProFootballNetwork.com. “There were some funny things and stuff, but you know what, it was what it was.”

Welker, who did not elaborate on the basis of his disappointment, was not asked to speak at the roast. He was invited to attend.

“I was asked to sit off to the side and get toasted, and I’m glad I wasn’t there,” Welker said. “To each their own, I guess.”

Had Welker been there, he certainly would have been reprimanded (probably repeatedly) for the missed pass in Super Bowl XLVI, which prompted Brady’s ex-wife to declare that Brady “can’t throw and catch the ball at the same time.”

I never thought it was a drop. It was a tough catch, and it wasn’t exactly thrown perfectly. But then again, Welker can’t catch the ball and throw it at the same time.
