Students from West Branch Local Schools have chosen to participate in honors bands with students from other parts of Ohio.
Jackson Moore and Chloe Baia of the eighth-grade West Branch Middle School Band will join the District 5 Middle School Honors Band.
Moore will be the first chair for trombone and Baia will be the fourth chair for flute.
From West Branch High School, Peter Blanchard, Alaina Schluneker, Jack Mudger, Adam Corallo, Zak Karlen, Gavin Clay and Mason Brown were selected for the District 5 High School Honors Band. They are all part of the West Branch High School band.
Ohio Music Education Association sponsors the honors band, which attracts students from Trumbull, Ashtabula and Mahoning counties for a special, cutting-edge musical ensemble.
Blanchard, a senior, was chosen as the first chair for oboe.
The students from both bands will conclude this experience on November 23 with a concert at the Stambaugh Auditorium in Youngstown.
