Wet, slippery conditions will move through the state on Thanksgiving

Wet conditions will move across the state this Thanksgiving.

While AAA expects minimal traffic impact Thursday as most people travel in the days leading up to and following Thanksgiving, you might be heading out in the morning for football games or a turkey trot.

Be alert on slippery roads with rain and colder temperatures.

AAA said you should avoid cruise control during wet weather because you may be more likely to lose control on wet roads. Slow down and leave space to reduce the chance of aquaplaning, and don’t panic if you start to skid, but steer in the direction you want to go and avoid hitting the brakes.

If you’re headed north for the holidays, prepare for possible snow as you head to Vermont, New Hampshire, or Maine.

This is a development story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
