Winter Storm Blair is expected to hit Greater Cincinnati Sunday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

According to Saturday evening’s weather forecast, the region will mainly see snow after 1 p.m.

Heavy snow is expected at times from Sunday afternoon through Sunday night. A mix of sleet and freezing rain could also impact the region. The snow is expected to stop on Monday.

The National Weather Service also forecast gusts of up to 30 miles per hour on Monday, according to a post from the agency on X.

Following Winter Storm Blair, sweltering temperatures are expected to hit Greater Cincinnati. On Saturday, the National Weather Service predicts winds will be near zero degrees Tuesday through Friday.

The agency previously issued a Winter Storm Warning that will be in effect from 10 a.m. Sunday until midnight Monday evening. The winter storm warning was issued at 3:15 a.m. Saturday for the following counties:

  • Franklin, Ripley, Dearborn, Ohio and Switzerland Counties in Indiana.

  • Boone, Kenton and Campbell counties in Kentucky.

  • Butler, Warren, Clinton, Ross, Hamilton, Clermont, Brown, Highland, Adams, Pike and Scioto counties in Ohio.

The weather service is warning motorists that travel could be very difficult and hazardous conditions could impact Monday morning and evening commutes.

How much snow will Cincinnati get?

The weather service’s forecast late Saturday afternoon indicated that snow and sleet accumulations between 5 and 10 inches could occur from Sunday morning through Monday evening. Heavy mixed precipitation is expected, as well as ice up to a tenth of an inch.

What will road conditions be like in Cincinnati?

Cincinnati roads are likely to be slick due to Winter Storm Blair. The National Weather Service encourages motorists to drive slowly and use caution. They also advise people to watch their steps on stairs, sidewalks and driveways as these surfaces can be slippery and increase the risk of falls.

The weather service said if you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

Sunday evening: Snow, freezing rain and wet snow. The snow and sleet can be heavy at times. Low around 23. East wind 9 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New ice accumulation of less than a tenth of an inch possible. New snow and sleet accumulations of 3 to 7 inches possible.

Monday: Snow, mainly before 3 p.m. High around 29. Northeast wind 13 to 25 km/h, with gusts up to 42 km/h. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Monday evening: Partly cloudy, with a low around 11. North wind 5 to 11 km/h, with gusts up to 21 km/h.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 26.

Tuesday evening: Partly cloudy, with a low around 10.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 22.

Wednesday evening: Partly cloudy, with a low around 4.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 21.

Thursday evening: Partly cloudy, with a low around 7.

Friday: Chance of snow. Partly cloudy, with a high near 28. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Friday evening: Chance of snow. Partly cloudy, with a low around 16. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 28.
