What will happen to Tim Walz after Donald Trump’s victory in the presidential election?

MINNEAPOLIS— That of former President Donald Trump expected presidential victory Many in Minnesota are wondering what the next steps will be for the Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz.

Walz, 60, will return to his state and continue serving his second term as governor of Minnesota. Peggy Flanagan, who would have run for governor if Walz’s ticket had won, remains lieutenant governor.

Walz still has two years left on his term. For the remainder of the term, it may be more difficult for him to implement the policy than before the achievements achieved during the historic 2023 session.

From now on, Control of the Minnesota House is up in the air after Republicans were able to flip three seats, with several other races likely headed for a recount — meaning the Democratic “trifecta” of power in the state is in doubt.

Walz has not indicated whether he would run again for governor of Minnesota if his vice presidential bid fails.

Shore provided a final address on a national platform before the election on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” Monday night, where he played the Vice President Kamala Harris The campaign’s focus on Pennsylvania, the hotly contested battleground, states that Trump ultimately wonalong with his 19 electoral votes.

At a meeting in La CrosseIn Wisconsin, Walz told the crowd earlier that day that if he and Harris beat Trump, voters “will never have to see this man on TV and listen to him again.”

Walz emphasized that the future of American democracy is at stake.

“The issue is now upon us, folks. I know there is a lot of anxiety. The decisions in the next 24 to 36 hours will determine not only the next four years, but the generations to come,” Walz said.

During his time as governorWalz went through several major crises. He faced harsh criticism from Republicans during his first term, amid the twin dilemmas of the COVID-19 pandemic the violent uprising that followed the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis in 2020.

Before serving as governor, Walz led Minnesota’s 1st congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2006 to 2019. Prior to his political career, the Nebraska native served in the Army National Guard for nearly a quarter century.

Harris plans to speak from Howard University in Washington, DC, on Wednesday afternoon. It is not yet known whether Walz will also speak at the event.
