Harris and Trump are expected to meet on stage Tuesday September 10ththe same date that Trump and President Joe Biden were expected to meet for their final debate. The debate is set for 9 p.m. ET.

Although the debate is scheduled to take place next week, Trump expressed doubts in late August about whether he would participate in the debate at all.

“Why would I debate Kamala Harris on that network?” Trump asked in a Truth Social post. He criticized Jonathan Karl’s interview with Tom Cotton on ABC’s “This Week,” as well as the show’s panel of commentators.

Shortly after that post, he indicated that he doesn’t really care about the microphone policy set for the debate.

Who will win the presidential election?

It’s a very different race than a few months ago, when Biden took on Trump.

The latest USA TODAY/Suffolk Poll shows Harris ahead of Trump 48%-43%, a lead within the poll’s margin of error. About 1 in 10 voters say they may change their mind or are undecided, according to USA TODAY’s reporting.

Democrats have gained strength after Biden withdrew from his re-election campaign to make way for Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

The poll of 1,000 likely voters, conducted by landline and mobile phone, was conducted between August 25 and 28 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.
