MINNEAPOLIS – More than 1 million Minnesotans have voted early in the 2024 presidential election. Many others will go to the polls on Tuesday, and still others will likely still be in line on Tuesday evening.

What time do polls open in Minnesota on Election Day?
Polls open at 7 a.m. in most Minnesota cities and towns, but towns with fewer than 500 residents may delay the opening until 10 a.m. More than 300 cities in Minnesota fall into this category. Click here to check if your municipality is included.

You can also vote by mail with an absentee ballot, as long as it is received by Election Day. At this point, Secretary of State Steve Simon says it’s probably best to bring in the remaining absentee ballots and hand-deliver them.
What time do polls close in Minnesota on Election Day?
Polls close in Minnesota at 8 p.m. State law says you can vote after that time if you get in line at the polling place before 8 p.m.
What time will the election results come out in Minnesota?
There is no set time for general election results to arrive in Minnesota. Each county’s election officials provide unofficial results to the Secretary of State’s office on election night.
County officials later verify and prove the results before their respective commissions conduct post-election reviews, according to Minnesota Statue 206.89. The review must be completed no later than 18 days after the general election.
