Louisiana’s largest new casino project made a splash in the blue Bossier City skyline Thursday as the first Live! The Casino & Resort sign was hoisted above the hotel.
“This just makes it more realistic,” said Joshua Robinson, vice president of marketing for the resort, which will be the first brick-and-mortar casino in the Shreveport-Bossier market. “Every day the property looks different and it’s great to see how it is evolving.”
Robinson, a Shreveport native with extensive casino resort experience in Louisiana, said construction of the $300 million estate remains on schedule.
The big question: when will live! Cordish Companies-owned casino and hotel opens in Bossier City?
“I’m going to keep telling everyone in early 2025 – not this early in January, but not this late in June,” Robinson said with a laugh.
While Cordish is keeping its specific target date under wraps, the company has plans to open sometime in the first quarter.
Cordish executives have said they plan to launch the new Live! Casino is intended to become a resort that will attract conferences and tourists from beyond Louisiana’s borders.
“It will have a quality and energy that, when you walk into this property, you will feel like you are in a premier casino and resort in the top gaming markets, including Las Vegas,” said Jon Cordish, partner at The Cordish Companies, in an earlier interview with USA Today Network.
Robinson said customers will experience “a wow factor” when they enter, from the gaming floor to the entertainment venues and restaurants such as The Prime Rib and Luk Fu.
“It will be a fully immersive entertainment destination,” he said.
Cordish said the project will create 750 permanent gaming and hospitality jobs with an annual payroll of more than $30 million, in addition to 750 construction jobs.
