Two people suspected of being involved in an armed heist of $1.7 million in gold and jewelry in Nashville were found about 900 miles away at a beachside hotel, police say.
Miami Beach and Metro Nashville police say Orlando Valdes Hernandez, 34, and Milleni Garcia, 38, were arrested Sunday at the Grand Beach Hotel, 4835 Collins Ave., with jewelry, cash and a blonde wig. Nashville police say the dark-haired Garcia wore the wig during Wednesday’s robbery of Dubai Jewelry.
The duo moved from Miami Beach housing to Miami-Dade Corrections housing at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center while awaiting extradition.
