The beaver plague in Kentucky is growing.
Buc-ee’s, a Texas convenience store and gas station with a cult following, has released new details about plans to open a third location in Bluegrass.
The chain plans to begin construction in early 2025 at a site in Oak Grove, just south of Hopkinsville in western Kentucky’s Christian County, near Fort Campbell and the Tennessee border.

“After a long courtship, Buc-ee’s is excited to finally be an official member of the Oak Grove community,” said Stan Beard, Buc-ee’s president of real estate and development, in a statement. “Construction is expected to begin sometime in the first quarter of 2025, with completion expected in the first half of 2026.”
According to a spokesperson, Buc-ee’s is coming to the southeast corner of I-24 and Pembroke-Oak Grove Road.
The new store is expected to bring hundreds of jobs to the region and draw many travelers off the highway in search of Beaver Nuggets and barbecue.
Buc-ee’s prides itself on its huge, clean restrooms, wide selection of gas stations, and large selection of fudge and jerky.
