Where to go in South Jersey to celebrate New Year’s Eve

The holiday season ends on December 31 with the ringing in of a new year.

This celebration is often accompanied by music, drinks, fireworks and of course a champagne toast when the ball drops at midnight.

If you’re looking for events to end 2024 with a bang, here are some places you can go with friends or family.

Family-friendly New Year’s Eve events in South Jersey

New Year’s Eve fireworks in Atlantic City9 p.m., Atlantic City Boardwalk. Atlantic City will host a “spectacular” fireworks show to ring in the new year. The fireworks show is free for all ages and can be seen from the beaches and boardwalk in and around Atlantic City.

First night in Ocean City4pm to midnight, Ocean City. From 4pm onwards, with over 20 different participating locations, Ocean City becomes a great place to take the kids with a host of events including karaoke, live music, magic shows and other activities. The best place would be to start at the civic center, where buses start running at 5 p.m.

New Year’s Eve on the battleship, from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM and at 10:00 PM, Camden waterfront. On New Year’s Eve, watch the fireworks from the famous and beloved Battleship New Jersey on the Delaware River. This event, which hosts two separate shows, can be good for families with young children. General admission requires a donation, and the VIP package includes views from the ship’s Admiral and Captain decks.

Hammonton’s New Year’s Eve Party and Giant Blueberry Drop11pm to 12:30am, downtown Hammonton. Hammonton’s celebration involves a version of the ball drop: a giant blueberry. Featuring music, games, shopping, drinks and food, the event is combined with fireworks at midnight after the blueberries have fallen.

New Year’s Eve Celebrations for Adults in South Jersey

Whether you want to drop some cash in a private lounge or save some money by hitting the bar, Adelphia’s offers options to help you dance your way to 2025. Bob Pantano will spin at the DJ table in the lounge and DJ Gus will do the same at the bar and on the dance floor.

Adelphia’s in Deptford could be a place to step into 2025 and swing.

Everything gold Everything @ Vera Bar and Grill8:00 PM to 2:00 AM, 2310 Marlton Pike West, Cherry Hill. Vera will host two separate events at their two-story venue. There will be a live performance from a Grammy-nominated artist, and the upstairs nightclub will have a blast.

Shots of Southern NYE @ Prospectors Steakhouse and Saloon, doors at 9 p.m., 3050 NJ-38, Mount Laurel. Want to get a taste of what a Southern New Year’s party might look like? Prospectors in Mount Laurel are hosting a party with an open bar and an all-inclusive buffet dinner, with live music as well. Tickets are limited.
