Where to Watch July 4th Fireworks Shows in Los Angeles and the Rest of SoCal

The Fourth of July is almost here, and of course there are plenty of fireworks shows in the Los Angeles area. Here’s a look at the biggest and most vibrant celebrations in LA and much of Southern California.

Los Angeles County

  • The half Moon: The Crescenta Valley Fireworks Association is hosting its annual event this year at the La Crescenta Elementary field, featuring choreographed music to match the show and lighting up the sky. The field opens at 4 p.m. and the fireworks show itself begins at 9 p.m. There will also be a separate seating area with several food trucks. $10 and $9 advance tickets are available at five locations listed here.
  • Lancaster: This annual festival at the AV Fair & Event Center features food vendors, family-friendly activities, and live entertainment that culminates with a fireworks show later in the evening. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. and more information can be found here.
  • Pacific Palisades: It’s an Independence Day celebration on the Pacific Palisades coast with a fireworks show at Palisades Charter High School. You can still buy tickets for $10, which you can find here . The event requires advance tickets to enter. There will also be food trucks and live music, and gates open at 6:00 PM and close at 8:45 PM — the fireworks show starts at 9:00 PM
  • Big Bear Lake: The Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular at Big Bear Lake is back, a grand spectacle that is free to spectators and visible from the water, shoreline and some nearby hiking trails, according to the city. The fireworks display begins between 8:45 and 9:15 p.m. and the show lasts approximately 30 to 40 minutes. More information can be found here.
  • Rose Bowl in Pasadena: The show, which has been dubbed “the longest-running fireworks extravaganza on the West Coast,” follows a world-class soccer match between the LA Galaxy and Los Angeles FC, or LAFC. Tickets are still on sale for the 7:30 p.m. game. The fireworks show begins at 9:30 p.m. But as Pasadena Now reports, you must purchase a match ticket to view the fireworks.
  • Alhambra: The city’s annual Fourth of July Celebration begins at 4 p.m. in Almansor Park, with fireworks at 9 p.m. The event includes food, games, and live entertainment. More information can be found here.
  • Burbank: Billy Nation, a Billy Joel tribute band, will perform at the Starlight Bowl with the musical group Mirage. The concert starts at 6:30 PM and will be followed by a fireworks show. More information about tickets and other information can be found here.
  • Long beach: At 9 p.m., fireworks will be set off near the dock in downtown Long Beach. A family-friendly event will be held on board the Queen Mary starting at 3 p.m., with music, food, drinks and a “kids zone.” Tickets for the Queen Mary can be purchased here , and more information about the fireworks show and other events in Long Beach can be found here .
  • Marina Del Rey: See fireworks from a different waterfront location in LA with the annual Fourth of July show at Marina Del Rey. Starting at 9 p.m., this spectacular display can be seen from almost anywhere in the city, as well as Venice Pier, Playa Vista, and Dockweiler Beach.   • Hollywood Bowl: Since 1969, this beloved venue has shot fireworks into the sky to cap off an Independence Day concert. This year, Harry Connick Jr. will play the Bowl, followed by the annual show. It marks the beginning of the venue’s explosive tradition of fireworks shows throughout the rest of the summer season, culminating with a Boyz II Men concert in September.   • Hollywood Forever Cemetery: As part of the summer film series, the Rocky + Fireworks event will air, airing Sylvester Stallone’s iconic film followed by a colorful fireworks display. There will be a photo booth and a fun BYOB option, as Hollywood Forever notes online: “Bring your own food, beer and wine, or have some from our bar. Happy 4th!” More information can be found here.

Orange Country

  • Huntington Beach: “Fireworks Over The Ocean” is an annual event presented by the Mayer Family Foundation that begins at 9:00 p.m. Viewing the fireworks from the beach is free and open to the public. Tickets for reserved seating on the pier can be purchased here.
  • More of Elsinore: Mother Duck, world’s largest rubber duckis visiting Orange County and you can catch her at Lake Elsinore Diamond Stadium from July 4-6. For Independence Day, the stadium will host a “quacktastic celebration” with food vendors, live music and a spectacular fireworks show. More information can be found here.
  • Aliso Oud: An annual fireworks show with music, community group booths and more at the Town Center Amphitheater. This is followed by a fireworks display beginning at 9:00 p.m. More information can be found here.
  • Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park: It’s summer at Knott’s and time for the annual 4th of July fireworks extravaganza, starting at 9:30 p.m. More information on tickets and location can be found here.
  • Disneyland Park in Anaheim: Join classic Disney characters and a show that combines lights and music for this fireworks display at the iconic theme park. Find out more here.
  • Dana Point: Promising to be Southern California’s BEST fireworks spectacle, this show just off the shoreline of Doheny State Beach runs from 9:00 to 9:30 p.m. More information here.

Ventura County

  • Simi Valley: Rock and country music collide at Rancho Santa Susana Community Park for this all-day event that ends with a fireworks show. Gates open at 3 p.m. and more information can be found here.
  • Cameroon: The city hosts its annual show at the sprawling Camarillo Premium Outlets, with fireworks displayed throughout the mall’s parking lot. It’s a free event that begins at 9 p.m. and parking is on a first-come, first-served basis. More information about the show can be found here.
  • Ventura: The annual Fourth of July Fireworks Show & Family Picnic at Ventura College is hosted by the city’s Rotary Club. Gates open at 5 p.m. and ticket sales end at 8:45 p.m. The show itself begins at 9 p.m. Ticket information and more can be found here.
  • Oxnard: Each year, Channel Islands Harbor hosts its “Fireworks by the Sea” along the waterfront. Food stands, children’s games, and live entertainment will last all day in the harbor, starting at 10:00 a.m. with a fireworks display later at 9:00 p.m. More information about tickets and other details can be found here.

Domestic Empire

  • Fairplex in Pomona: “Kaboom!” is an Independence Day celebration that brings together freestyle motocross, monster trucks, live music, food, and of course fireworks for the annual 4th of July party. You can buy tickets and find more information here.
  • Yucaipa: Featuring a patriotic costume contest and a cornhole tournament, this all-day event is ticketed. Gates open at 4 p.m. and the fireworks show begins at 9 p.m. Ticket information and more can be found here.
  • Victorville: The Fourth of July Freedom Festival will be held at the county festival grounds from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., with a fireworks show beginning at 9 p.m. No outside food or drink will be allowed on the festival grounds, but officials say there will be plenty for sale at the event.   • Highland: It’s the 2024 Light Up the Night Fireworks Spectacular that will be held at Cable Airport. The show starts at 9pm. Before it starts, there will be an air show, games and competitions and more throughout the day. More information can be found here.
  • Moreno Valley: The city’s Civic Center will feature food vendors and a beer garden as part of a larger Fourth of July celebration that will conclude with a fireworks display. Gates to the event open at 3 p.m. and close at 8:30 p.m. The show begins shortly thereafter. Tickets are $4 and more information can be found here.
  • Temecula: In Old Town Temecula, this all-day event kicks off at 10am with food, live entertainment, and lots of kids activities before a fireworks show at 9pm. Learn more here.
  • Palm Springs: This Coachella Valley celebration will be presented at the Palm Springs Power Baseball stadium. The fireworks show is scheduled to begin shortly after 9:00 p.m. More information here.
