Which cities in the High Desert had the highest and lowest voter turnout on Tuesday?

Apple Valley voters showed by far the highest turnout among High Desert cities in Tuesday’s election, data show

In Apple Valley City Council District 2, the only contested seat in the election, the city’s voter turnout was 50.38%, according to the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters.

Of the 6,979 ballots cast in the district, 5,443, or 78%, were mailed.

The proposal for a citywide 1% sales tax increase, known as Measure P, garnered a turnout of 42.4%, with a total of 19,752 votes cast. About 73% were mail-in ballots.

Voter turnout in Barstow

Barstow saw the second highest voter turnout: 38.2%, for a total of 4,247 votes. The District 3 race saw a turnout of 39.8%, while District 4’s turnout was 36.6%.

About 62% of mayoral voters chose to vote by mail.

Voter turnout in Hesperia

In Hesperia, the District 1 race achieved a 32.4% turnout, while District 2 had a 37.8% turnout.

Of the total 7,711 votes submitted in both districts, 65% were submitted via mail-in ballots.

Voter turnout in Victorville

Victorville had municipal elections in three districts.

The District 1 race had a turnout rate of 34.4%, while District 3 turnout was 30.4% and District 5 was 32.4%.

Of all 11,883 votes cast, mail-ins accounted for 68%.

Voter turnout in Adelanto

In the Adelanto general municipal elections, the electoral turnout was 28.5%.
