Georgia lawmakers have passed it Bill 1314 the white shrimp has been named the official crustacean of the state of Georgia.

The little animal won the title for its significance to Georgian culture and economy.
According to the General Assembly of GeorgiaShrimp makes up nearly 80 percent of the seafood the state catches each year.
The General Assembly praised the bill, noting the importance of recognizing the importance of shellfish in the state.
