Will Miami get a break from the record-breaking heat? What the weather forecast says about the weekend

The hottest May in Miami history ends cooler this weekend.

Highs this weekend will be in the 80s and 90s. That’s almost a cool period, if you’ve been experiencing mid-90s and “feeling-like” temperatures well over 100 degrees in recent weeks.

And don’t be cheesy: Temperatures are expected to dip below 80 degrees overnight on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Not nearly cool enough for churros and hot chocolate, but we’re okay with the relief.

“It will still be on the humid side, but not as bad as we’ve seen,” National Weather Service Miami meteorologist Luke Culver said Friday of the highs during the day. “It will feel good.”

According to Culver, there is a good chance of rain on Saturday and Sunday. Thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon, which would provide a respite from the heat.

The pattern, still warm during the day, but not quite as According to the weather service, it will remain warm until Monday.
