Will Tropical Storm Sara Hit Florida? Here is the newest path

A tropical depression in the western Caribbean Sea is expected to strengthen into Tropical Storm Sara and has the potential to take a turn toward Florida by the middle of next week, forecasters said.

While it’s still far too early to be sure of the potential impact in the Sunshine State, some computer models have indicated that Sara could be something to keep an eye on. The system is currently off the coast of Central America and may interact with land before entering the Gulf of Mexico, reducing its potential intensification and making it too early to determine if the storm is a will become a hurricane.

Recent trends have shown that Sara may linger over land for longer than initially thought, reducing the chance of her hitting Florida. But forecasters advised residents of the state, including the Keys, to regularly check the status of the storm.
