MINNEAPOLIS— Saturday’s winter weather caused several crashes and spinouts across the state, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
A fatal accident occurred in Inver Grove Heights around 1:30 a.m. Saturday afternoon. State police say the driver of a pickup truck lost control at the top of a ramp. This caused the driver to cross the northbound lane and collide with a Mazda.
The driver of the pickup, a 74-year-old man from Inver Grove Heights, was killed in the crash. The driver and five passengers of the Mazda were not injured, according to the state patrol.
Statewide, there were 183 crashes between midnight and 6 p.m., 18 involving injuries, 5 spinouts and 4 semi-finals.
