MINNEAPOLIS — Police received reports Friday evening that a fire had been deliberately set at an apartment complex in Minneapolis.

According to the Minneapolis Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched to a fire at a two-story apartment building at 2600 Girard Avenue South around 5 p.m.

Witnesses reported that someone may have set fire to the porch. Police arrived on scene.

Crews found a burning wicker couch. Residents were evacuated and crews were able to contain the fire to the porch.

A firefighter was taken to hospital with a leg injury, and a police officer was evaluated for possible smoke inhalation, the fire department said.
