Woman, 90, dies after being attacked in nursing home by patient, Roseville police say

A 90-year-old resident of a nursing home and hospice care facility died this week after being attacked by a fellow resident, Roseville police said.

Officers responded to a report of the assault on Aug. 28 at Agape Villa Care Home in the 1100 block of Nob Hill Court, said Lt. Chris Ciampa, a spokesman for the Roseville Police Department.

The female victim suffered serious facial injuries and was taken to a hospital, Ciampa said. The woman, whose identity has not been released, died Tuesday.

The Placer County Coroner’s Office is expected to determine the woman’s identity once her family has been notified.

The suspect, a 77-year-old man, was taken to another care facility. Ciampa did not announce any arrests in the incident, but said detectives are still investigating.

“The Roseville Police Department remains committed to a thorough and transparent investigation and will continue to support the victim’s family and the community as this process unfolds,” Ciampa said in a statement.
