A woman charged in connection with the April collision of a police officer with a stolen truck has been sentenced.

Diamond Grody, 29, was granted leave to intervene in lieu of sentencing by Montgomery County Common Pleas Court Judge Mary Montgomery on June 27, court records show.
Grody will not have to go to prison and must complete a rehabilitation period of one to five years.
She is also no longer allowed to have any contact with her co-defendant Daniel Payton, according to court documents.

As News Center 7 previously reported, around 9:50 p.m. on April 24, Dayton officers responded to a traffic stop near West Fairview Avenue and Catalpa Drive in reference to a suspected stolen vehicle.
When officers stopped him, Diamond Grody got out and ran away, Dayton police said.

Daniel Payton then got behind the wheel and drove away, striking a Dayton police officer, police said.
Police, along with nearby agencies, pursued the truck as it entered I-70 westbound into Indiana, where Payton was arrested.
Officers located Grody, who was later arrested.

News Center 7 also reported in May that Payton was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to disobeying a police officer’s order or signal and receiving stolen property.
Grody was originally charged with obstructing official business.
