A 37-year-old woman was taken into custody after shooting a younger woman in the legs during an overnight fight in the Grand Crossing neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Around 1 a.m. Friday, two women were arguing on the sidewalk in the 7000 block of South Eberhart Avenue when the argument turned physical, police said.
One of the women shot the other, who was younger, once in the right leg and twice in the left leg, police said. The victim, 35, was taken to UChicago Medicine, where she was listed in fair condition, police said.
A firearm was found at the scene and the elderly woman was arrested. Charges were pending as detectives continued the investigation.
