CHICAGO (CBS) — A 49-year-old woman was killed Friday night after a drive-by that turned into a gunfight in the West Pullman neighborhood.

According to Chicago police, around 9:30 p.m., the woman was sitting on a porch in the 11800 block of South Indiana Avenue with another man when an unknown man drove by in a dark-colored SUV and began shooting.

The man on the porch, who had a gun permit, returned fire and the driver of the SUV left the scene.

The woman was shot in the face and arm. She was treated by Chicago firefighters and taken to Roseland Hospital in critical condition, where she later died.

The man on the porch was not injured. A gun was found at the scene.

As of Saturday, no one had been arrested.

Detectives from Area 2 were investigating.
