Tuesday afternoon, a passerby found the body of a woman in a wooded part of Roswell. Police are now investigating the case as a murder.
Roswell police said the body was found along the roadway on Azalea Three near Atlanta Street around 3:15 p.m.
Police and the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene and began an investigation into the death, but on Christmas morning police said the death was now part of a homicide investigation.

Roswell police said Channel 2 Action News further investigation into the woman’s death revealed that she had suffered at least one gunshot wound.
Detectives said they do not believe the victim was murdered where her body was found and are now actively working to locate the original crime scene and find those responsible.
The riot police’s office will work to determine an official cause and manner of death, police said. Channel 2 Action News has contacted the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office for more information about the victim.
