MINNEAPOLIS — Thursday will be the hottest day in the Twin Cities through next week.

The forecast high temperature is 80 degrees. Once again a southerly wind helps us. Not as breezy as Wednesday, especially in the morning.

Expect sunshine and dry conditions. Rain and storms will start in the west on Thursday evening. Some could be strong.

We will wake up to scattered showers and thunderstorms on Friday. Probably nothing serious, but it’s possible we could get a few big storms. Temperatures will be cooler that day, in the low 60s.

Saturday should be a pleasant day with highs in the low 70s and a mix of sun and clouds. Sunday will be much the same, but some isolated showers may develop. It also looks like more clouds on Sunday.

Memorial Day will feel similar to Sunday, with highs in the 70s, partly sunny skies and passing showers. Not completely dry. The same applies to early next Tuesday.

Temperatures will be slightly warmer on Wednesday over the weekend.
