Authorities arrested an alleged wrong-way driver who was bloodied and walking along the Pacific Coast Highway in Hermosa Beach on Friday evening.

They say the head-on crash happened on PCH Friday evening around 7 p.m., according to Hermosa Beach police.

While the other driver involved in the crash was treated at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics, the driver reportedly exited his car and jumped a nearby fence after the collision.

An HBPD sergeant reported seeing the driver, covered in blood, as they walked along PCH about three hours after the crash.

The driver, identified only as a man, was taken to a hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

“The HBPD Traffic Bureau is in the process of filing multiple charges against the suspect,” the statement said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at (310) 318-0360.
