Yankees’ Aaron Judge is not in Wednesday’s starting lineup, considered day-to-day

Aaron Judge will not be in the Yankees’ starting lineup against the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday, manager Aaron Boone said before the game, after hitting the hand that forced him to leave the game on Tuesday.

Boone told reporters that while Judge’s hand is still sore (but feeling better), he has had some swings in the cage and that his outfielder will “hopefully” be back for Thursday’s series finale, though he is expected to be on a daily basis is considered to.

After Wednesday’s game, Judge allayed concerns, saying his X-ray and CT scan results came back negative and he is good to go.

Without judge, Trent Grisham is in center field batting ninth as New York looks to win the second game of the three-game set against Baltimore at Yankee Stadium and Gerrit Kool made his long-awaited season debut.
