The Yankees are showing interest in right-handed players Carlos Estevezsaid Jon Morosi of MLB Network.
Morosi noted earlier this week that New York was one of the more aggressive teams to speak to the representatives of numerous free agent relievers at the GM Meetings — and now Estevez is the first name to be revealed.
It certainly comes as no surprise that the defending American League champions are exploring bullpen additions early as they could lose Clay Holmes, Tommy KahnleAnd Tim Hill to free agency this offseason.
Estevez is one of the best players available and he would certainly be a nice addition after another strong season in which he pitched to a 2.45 ERA and 0.90 WHIP while completing 26 games with the Los Angeles Angels and Philadelphia Phillies.
