Yankees have three prospects on MLB Pipeline’s new Top 100 list, including Jasson Dominguez

With the 2024 season nearly halfway through, MLB Pipeline has released an updated list of Top 100 Prospects, and three Yankees made the cut: outfielder Jasson Dominguez (no. 26), outfielder Spencer Jones (no. 75) and RHP Pursuit Hampton (no. 83).

Since the last Top 100 update in May, there has been one Yankees prospect, shortstop Roderick Ariasfell off the list. He was previously at No. 84.

Dominguez, 21, remains one of the sport’s most promising hitters despite undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2023.

Dominguez played at three levels earlier this season as part of his rehabilitation program, hitting .356/.404/.609 with six home runs and 13 RBI in 23 games. He was out for an extended period before suffering an oblique muscle injury.

Meanwhile, both Jones and Hampton have dropped down the list but remain in the Top 100. Jones, who went from No. 65 to No. 75, has had a mediocre season for Double-A Somerset, slashing .252/.332/.420 with nine home runs and 45 RBI. His biggest problem has been strikeouts, as he has been struck out 107 times in 262 plate appearances.

Hampton’s drop from No. 71 to No. 83 is likely due to the fact that the 22-year-old has been out most of the season with a UCL sprain. Hampton finally made his first rehab start in the Florida Complex League on Monday, throwing 1.1 innings and allowing one earned run on one hit with two strikeouts and two walks.

Spencer Jones and Brock Selvidge selected to play in Futures Game

The NL and AL rosters for the 2024 All-Star Futures Game were announced Tuesday, with two Yankees set to take the field in Arlington, Texas.

Jones and left-handed pitcher Brock Selvidge will represent the Yanks on July 13, when several future baseball stars will get a chance to shine in the national spotlight.

Jones is looking to show his strength, while Selvidge is looking to continue his strong season, posting a 3.95 ERA for Double-A Somerset.

Selvidge, 21, is the Yankees’ No. 10 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline.
