The Yankees have dealt an outfielder Taylor Trammellby sending him to Houston in exchange for a trade with the Astros for cash.
Trammell played in five games for New York in 2024 after being cleared off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers early in the season. He had a hit and a walk in his only two at-bats for the Yanks, scoring two runs before being sent to Triple-A.
The trade comes a day after New York added the 27-year-old to its 40-man roster along with two others.
Trammell was selected No. 35 overall in the 2016 MLB Draft by the Cincinnati Reds and is a former top 100 prospect. He made his MLB debut in 2021 with the Seattle Mariners.
In 126 career games, the outfielder hit .167 with 15 home runs, 39 RBI and a .633 OPS.
