After the New York Yankees did what they always seem to do by continuing their two-decade-plus streak of destroying the Minnesota Twins, the team made some noise off the field when owner Hal Steinbrenner said he might be signing superstar Juan Soto this season wants to extend. That may be easier said than done due to the usual negotiating tactics of Soto’s agent, Scott Boras. Jake Mintz and Jordan Shusterman kick off the podcast discussing the upcoming negotiations between Soto’s representation and the Yankees.
The guys then get into the surreal start to which Cincinnati Reds phenom Elly De La Cruz has been launched on the basepaths (including four steals Thursday night against the Dodgers), why his 80 stolen bases goal seems like easy money and the reason why a certain famous video game helps him take his game to the next level when he’s in Los Angeles.
Later, Jake and Jordan answer some listening emails in which they apologize for doubting Javier Assad, tell which teams they are most optimistic about, give their opinions Good, bad and Uggla for the week and close with a few games they are looking forward to this weekend.
