CHICAGO (CBS) — Thursday night, a party was held on Chicago’s South Side, featuring a room full of Hidden Geniuses.
The Hidden Genius Project teaches technology and entrepreneurship to young Black boys and men in Chicago and across the country.
Participants showed off their technology, business and gaming projects Thursday evening at the Gary Comer Youth Center, 7200 S. Ingleside Ave.
“They worked really hard this summer. Many of them had no coding skills before coming to this program. Over eight weeks, they were able to build a bunch of things — and really see the genius in them,” said Hidden Genius Project Director Eric Steen of Project Chicago , “and our goal is to continue to highlight geniuses on the South Side of Chicago.”
CBS News Chicago is proud to partner with the Hidden Genius program, highlighting its work to teach young men to be their best selves while learning all about technology.
