Nyman, a native of Toronto, Ontario, was considered one of the top prospects eligible for the 2024 OHL Priority Selection last April.

Although he was selected in the fifth round by the Brampton Steelheads, it was already known that Nyman was headed to the NCAA. He made his commitment official on August 1.

Nyman played for the Vaughan Kings U16 AAA team in 2023-24, recording four goals and 21 assists for 25 points in 31 GTHL regular season games.

Born in 2008, Nyman will be one of the younger players in the BCHL next season. Despite being 5-foot-9, Nyman is a dynamic, skilled puck mover who can create for himself and others. He will definitely be one to watch in the coming years.
