PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – After several days of sunny and dry conditions, rain returns to the Delaware Valley on Thursday.
A few scattered showers began popping up west of the city early Thursday morning, but today’s strongest storm will hit Philadelphia between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
While the threat of severe weather is limited, these storms could bring gusty winds, heavy rain and possibly lightning.

The morning commute should not be affected by these rain showers, but this afternoon’s Phillies game, which starts just after 1 p.m., could be affected by storms.
It will clear and become partly sunny Thursday afternoon as the front drops south, but showers are possible again late tonight and early Friday morning.

Friday morning’s commute may be wet, but the second half of the day will clear up again for a sunny and beautiful start to the Memorial Day weekend.

The holiday weekend is still a bit restless. Saturday looks to be partly sunny with a chance of a late shower or storm with highs around 80 degrees.
Sunday will be partly sunny and warm, but also humid. On Monday we will have a better chance of windy and strong thunderstorms, with high temperatures slightly above 70 degrees.
