AES Ohio is alerting customers after receiving reports of scams targeting customers.

The utility said scammers claim to represent AES Oho and demand immediate payment through third-party sites, according to a social media post.
The callers also threaten to turn off the power for overdue balances.

AES Ohio stated on its Facebook page that they “do not require or strongly recommend any specific payment method.”

The company added that it offers customers several payment options but does not provide “barcodes for payments on third-party sites.”
