BOSTON – A student at Berklee College of Music in Boston was knocked to the ground in a random attack during the day last week, according to a police report.

Around 1 p.m. Friday, the victim left a Berklee building near 169-171 Massachusetts Ave. and walked down the sidewalk toward two friends. She told police that a stranger was sitting between her and her friends, and she said to him, “Do I know you?”

“[She] stated that the unknown subject then struck her with a closed fist punch to the right side of her face, causing her to fall and strike her in the back of the head,” the police report said.

Attacker “randomly hit her in the face”

The victim’s friends also told police that the man “randomly punched her in the face.” Police say when officers interviewed the victim, she was “visibly distraught and had noticeable swelling and redness on the right side of her face, near her eye.” She was taken to a hospital for further examination.

Police described the suspect as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing dark-colored clothing, including a hooded sweatshirt and dark red or black pants. He was also wearing a black bubble-style jacket, police said.

Actor Steve Buscemi was present last week randomly punched in the face while walking down a New York City street during a seizure captured on video.
