MUNCIE, Ind. – The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County has announced the recipients of the 2025 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarships for Delaware County.
This year’s recipients are Zachary Baty of Delta High School and Josephine Burton of Burris Laboratory High School.
Lilly Endowment Community Scholars are known for “their community involvement, academic achievement, character and leadership,” according to a press release.
“Zachary Baty and Josephine Burton were selected for their leadership and service to their school community and the greater community,” said Marcy Minton, president and CEO of The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County. “They will represent Muncie and Delaware County as Lilly Scholars and carry that honor with them for the rest of their lives.
Baty plans to study neuroscience or biology. He is the son of Monica and Eric Baty.
Burton plans to study biology. She is the daughter of Jacqueline and Aaron Burton.
Each Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship provides full tuition, mandatory fees and a special allocation of up to $900 per year for required books and equipment for four years. The scholarship is intended for full-time students pursuing a baccalaureate degree at an eligible public or private non-profit college or university in Indiana.
