The Vancouver Canucks announced that Brock Boeser would not return to their game against the LA Kings. Boeser took a dangerous and dirty blow to the head from Tanner Jeannot, resulting in a match penalty for the Kings forward. Vancouver was therefore given a five-minute power play, with Conor Garland scoring to tie the game.

It would be shocking if Jeannot were not suspended for this goal. According to the NHL rule book: “A match penalty will be assessed to any player who intentionally attempts to injure an opponent or who intentionally injures an opponent in any manner.” Tomorrow there will be more information about a possible suspension for Jeannot.
