Details of Rory McIlroy’s divorce are emerging

New details have emerged about Rory McIlroy’s shocking divorce from Erica Stoll.

According to Palm Beach County court documents obtained by the Belfast Telegraph, the professional golfer served his estranged wife on the morning of May 13 at their family home in Jupiter, Florida.

The process server personally delivered the divorce petition to Stoll at the $22 million mansion.

The day before, on Mother’s Day, McIlroy, 35, claimed victory at the Wells Fargo Championship in Charlotte, North Carolina. Stoll, 36, was not present.

The four-time major winner had already digitally signed the divorce papers on May 9, records show, which show Stoll had 20 days to respond.

“A phone call does not protect you,” read the petition. “Your written response, including the case number and names of the parties listed above, must be submitted if you want the court to hear your side of the case.

“If you do not file your response on time, you may lose the case and your wages, money, and property may subsequently be confiscated without further notice from the court,” the summons continued.

“There are other legal requirements. You may want to call a lawyer right away. If you do not know a lawyer, you can call a lawyer referral service or a legal aid office (listed in the telephone directory).”

McIlroy, who was rumored to be dating newly single sportscaster Amanda Balionis, married Stoll in 2017. They share a daughter, Poppy, 3.

Since May 13, there has been no movement on the divorce docket, and no attorney has been listed for Stoll. McIlroy is represented by Thomas Sasser, Tiger Woods’ attorney during his high-profile 2010 divorce from Elin Nordegren.
