(CBS-DETROIT) – Hydrate Detroit wants to help families pay their water bills.
The nonprofit water relief organization says about 150,000 people in the Motor City are struggling to pay their water bills.
The organization is currently seeking donations to help those in need this holiday season.
Organizers say water is a human right.
“We know the holidays are stressful, but even at this time of year you need water for heating, you need water for cooking and you need water to stay warm,” said Demeeko Williams, CEO of Hydrate Detroit. to make sure everyone contacts us, but also donate to charity so we can continue to help people get their water going again.”
