Draymond delivers blunt criticism of Pat Bev’s post-game antics

Draymond Green knows a thing or two about the interactions between NBA players and opponents.

On Thursday, Milwaukee Bucks guard Patrick Beverley got into a bizarre conversation with a group of fans sitting near his team’s bench. That included Beverley throwing a basketball at several spectators, with emotions clearly running high as the Bucks suffered a season-ending 120-98 loss to the Indiana Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

On Friday, Green addressed Beverley’s antics during an episode of “The Draymond Green Show,” explaining that there seems to be a pattern of Beverley having these types of outbursts and why it’s problematic for the league.

“Pat Bev threw a ball at a fan last night,” Green said on his podcast. “Pat is getting more and more cases like that when they lose in these play-off games. That one might have been even crazier than the [Chris Paul] push. Because it opens up a whole different can of worms. [NBA commissioner Adam Silver] will have a problem on his hands with this. Because it gets as close to the stands as possible. That is forbidden for us.”

That wasn’t the only off-court incident involving Beverley on Thursday, however, as the 35-year-old received massive backlash after denying a reporter a post-match interview when he learned she hadn’t subscribed to his podcast.

Green, who runs a podcast himself, explained why he disagreed with Beverley’s comments before ending with a joke about the 35-year-old’s behavior after losses.

“Then Pat didn’t take it very well because he followed it up by talking to a female reporter about not subscribing to his podcast,” Green said. “I’ve never heard anyone say, ‘If you’re not subscribed to my podcast, don’t ask me a question.’

“I actually try to take the opposite approach because I really appreciate the NBA supporting podcasts the way they do. Pat, you can’t keep having these moments man after these losses. You’re starting to look like the kid that’s going to throw the ball and say, ‘I’m going home, I can’t play, we’re leaving here. It’s my ball.’ Come on, Pat!”
