Oct. 11 – The Ector County ISD Board of Trustees will decide on a search firm to find a superintendent to replace Scott Muri at their Oct. 15 meeting at 6 p.m. It will be held in the boardroom on the first floor of the Administration Building, 802 N. Sam Houston Ave.
The board heard from four search firms during an Oct. 8 workshop. They included HYA Corporation, JG Consulting, the Texas Association of School Boards and Walsh Gallegos Kyle Robinson & Roalson PC
HYA was the company that brought retiring Superintendent Scott Muri to the district in 2019. Muri announced his retirement in August.
Some other agenda items are:
— Public hearing on the district’s FIRST (Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas) report.
— Discussion and request for approval of the 2024 Certified Tax Roll.
— Discussion of and request for approval of a resolution to nominate candidates to the Ector County Appraisal District Board.
— Discussion and request for approval of the appointment/reappointment of members of the School Health Advisory Council (SHAC).
— Discussion and request for approval of the 2024 certified tax roll.
— Presenting the 2025 ECISD Medical Plan Committee update.
— After a board meeting, the board discusses the purchase of real estate.
