Egypt calls on Iran and Israel to exercise restraint

Egypt has urged Iran and Israel to show restraint and prevent the region from sliding into conflict, a foreign ministry statement said.

Egypt expressed deep concern over the ongoing mutual escalation between Israel and Iran and warned of the consequences of the expansion of the conflict in the region and its dangerous impact on the safety and security of its people.

Oman, meanwhile, has condemned a suspected Israeli attack on Iran’s Isfahan province as well as repeated Israeli attacks in the region, a Foreign Ministry spokesperson said in a statement.

The Gulf state has urged the international community to address the roots of tensions and conflicts through dialogue, diplomacy and political solutions. It also called for a focus on efforts for a ceasefire in Gaza and achieving “a just and permanent solution to the Palestinian cause to restore security, stability and comprehensive peace in the entire region.”
