CHICAGO (CBS) — A fire broke out on the top floor and roof of the Joffrey Tower in downtown Chicago on Tuesday evening.
In a video from the Citizen app, flames were seen on the roof of the high-rise building, at 8 E. Randolph St.
Scores of firefighters rushed to the scene and lined State Street along the high-rise.
No information was immediately available on the severity of the fire, its cause or whether anyone was injured. The alarm reports showed that the fire started in the boiler room.
The Joffrey Tower is located across Benton Place, a named alley, from the Chicago Theater. It houses a two-story Walgreens store on the ground floor, the Joffrey Ballet headquarters and 23 floors of residences.
