Not many colleges end up with two of Rivals.com’s top three quarterbacks.

State of Ohio ended up in that scenario by some luck, but there was a good chance that something would pay off in the end. Freshman Quarter Air Nolandwhose real name is Prentiss, entered the transfer portal on Monday and has four years of eligibility remaining.

Noland had signed with Ohio State a year ago, and after National Signing Day, the Buckeyes added Julian Sayin from Carlsbad (California) High, who had originally selected Alabama. Sayin then transferred to Ohio State Alabama coach Nick Saban retired, and that created the drama of can the Buckeyes keep Noland and Sayin happy.

The 6-foot-1, 192-pound Noland ranked as a five-star prospect for Rivals.com and was ranked No. 31 overall, No. 5 overall in Georgia and the No. 3 pro-style quarterback in the country. The Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes High product continued to steadily climb the rankings.

Noland threw for 2,140 yards and 22 touchdowns his senior year at Langston Hughes High.
