A man with a gunshot wound walked into Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek early Sunday saying he had been shot in downtown Dayton, prompting Dayton police to investigate the claim.

According to dispatch records, the man entered the medical center on Pentagon Boulevard around 2:22 a.m.

According to service logs obtained by News Center 7, police were investigating the areas of Briarwood Avenue and North Cherrywood Avenue.
The investigation later determined that the shooting occurred in Fairborn and is under investigation by the Fairborn Police Department.
