On December 13, Palatka Police Department officers responded to 100 Memorial Parkway for the burglaries. Victims reported that approximately $20,000 worth of fishing equipment was stolen.
On December 16, a large quantity of fishing equipment was discovered for sale on social media, matching descriptions of items reported stolen. The investigation revealed that the suspect sold the equipment from an apartment complex in East Palatka.
Undercover detectives contacted the suspect, later identified as Andrea Walker Jr., 21, and made arrangements to purchase some of the fishing equipment. When detectives met Walker, they identified the stolen property before purchase.
Walker was subsequently arrested and a large amount of stolen fishing equipment was recovered from the apartment shortly afterwards.
