The Kansas City Current continued their undefeated start to the season with a 2-0 victory over the Houston Dash to leave their mark on the NWSL record books.

The win marked the Current’s 17th consecutive game without a loss, breaking the NWSL single-season record for an unbeaten streak. The record was previously held by the 2014 Seattle Reign, whose streak spanned just one season.

The last time the Current lost was a 2-1 loss to the Washington Spirit on September 30, 2023.

Temwa Chawinga led the way with two goals in three minutes, giving her a career-high 11 goals in the NWSL.

Of course, she also made history with an unprecedented shot into the Missouri River.

The Current’s record now stands at an NWSL-best 10-5-0.
