Gwinnett police say a man was dead Thursday after a shooting involving one of their officers.
The shooting occurred along a busy section of Jimmy Carter Boulevard near Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, which is currently blocked off.
Police have not released the man’s name.

NewsChopper 2 flew over the scene and saw dozens of police units near a busy shopping plaza. There are also dozens of bystanders in the area as police investigate.
Witnesses told it Channel 2’s Michael Doudna that the incident began when a traffic stop occurred in a parking lot and shots were fired. They say the man then drove away to a second location where another shooting occurred.

Police have not yet released any details about what led to the shooting.
It is not known whether anyone was injured in the shooting, either officers or suspects.
